Our COVID-19 Policy and Protocols
YOUR SAFTEY IS OUR TOP PRIORITY
To Our Valued Patients,
We appreciate the trust you place in us and want to inform you about how we are addressing the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as we begin to care for more patients in our office in the month of June. We are closely monitoring events in our local community and continuously updating our policies and protocols as a result of new information. In addition, we are pleased to continue to offer the option of a TeleMedicine visit (video or phone) to all our patients.
Please know that our office is following all recommended guidance from the CDC and local public health authorities and experts, including best practices for hygiene, infection control, and medical professional team health. We feel confident in our ability to continue seeing patients both through TeleMedicine visits and in the office to provide the highest quality of care in a safe environment. Our number one priority is the safety of our patients and our team.
We are going above and beyond to ensure the safety of our patients, providers, and staff. We are taking the following safety measures:
- A rigorous screening and triage process to ensure patients who are experiencing COVID symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID are not coming into the office. These patients will be offered TeleMedicine visits and other options for their needs.
- Patients coming into the office will be instructed to wear a mask. If a patient does not have a mask, we will provide a mask to them. Upon entering the waiting room, patients will be escorted to an exam room and their temperature will be obtained. If a patient has an abnormal temperature, we will consult with a provider and may ask the patient to return to their vehicle and await advice on the next steps.
- In-office adult patients will not be allowed any guests, visitors, or minor children unless pre-approved.
- In-office pediatric patients will be allowed one parent or guardian to accompany them to their visit.
- All patients will undergo a screening process prior to their in-person appointment being scheduled and will be instructed to call the office prior to their appointment if they experience any changes in their health or develop any symptoms.
- All patients will be brought into an exam room immediately after check-in. If there is a small wait, our waiting area has been set up so that social distancing is achieved.
- Our providers and staff are trained in infection control best practices, including the effective use of personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves, and goggles.
- We continue to ensure that all areas within our practice are cleaned regularly with cleaning products that have been approved by the EPA as effective against Coronavirus (COVID).
Thank you for your continued trust and loyalty as we work together to fight this virus.
Warm Regards,
Pleasant Lake Medical Center
